Abstract
This report is based on 1996 and 1997 data from the Longitudinal Surveys of Australian Youth program. The data provides the most recent and comprehensive nationwide estimates of Year 10 and Year 11 students participating in work experience and workplace learning programs. This report also includes information on student characteristics such as gender and social background and information on student's perceptions of the perceived benefits of participating in work placement programs.
