Abstract

Four experienced educators presented their views on the future of professional teaching standards in Australia. Views covered the need for a standards-guided professional development system; a brief history of work in the area of standards; how far have we gone in standards, and what standards do we aspire to; and, the Victorian Departments support for professional standards, and a growing interest in the idea of professional ownership.
