Abstract
Strengthening Systematic Capacity on Learning Assessment (SSCLA) is a remedial program which aims to improve assessment quality in state level exams. The program is supported by capacity building workshops for teachers. The workshops address the following key aspects of SSCLA: the development of an assessment framework; understanding quality assessment items for both large scale and school level examinations in mathematics and language; and the development of rubrics and scoring guides. The workshops were conducted from 2019-2021 in four Indian states − Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh (UP).
