Abstract
This paper provides an introduction to the joint ASLA/ALIA Standards for Teacher Librarians Project and a discussion of the rationale for the project; where it fits within the current standards movement and the possible impact on the profession. The aim of the Standards Project is to develop, disseminate and promote a statement of standards which describes the knowledge, skills and attitudes of professional Teacher Librarians in Australia. Participants in this conference session will be involved in a workshop in which they undertake evaluation of the latest draft of the standards document in the light of their own practice.
