School Governance in the Australian Context: Trends and Challenges

Abstract

This article discusses the major roles and responsibilities of school boards in the context of school governance in Australia. Described is a study conducted in 32 independent secondary schools in Victoria which highlighted the importance of diversity in school board membership.
