Abstract
Three major factors emerged to explain the implementation experience found in the schools. The first factor related to the background experience of the school. Relevant features included an academic (or Group 1) tradition of Year 12 subjects and related policies of assessment and reporting. The second factors related to the extent of collaboration among staff involved with implementing the pilot course. The third factor relates to external support and the role of school support centre staff.
