Abstract

The National Assessment Program (NAP) tests in science sampled 22,322 students (11,067 students at Grade 3 and 11,255 students at Grade 6) from 11 different regions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and within both governmental and private schools as well as general and religious schools. This chapter examines variations in achievement of students in these science tests at Grade 3 and Grade 6, examining performance by various criteria or population subgroups including gender, geographic location, school authority and school type.
