Abstract

Dynamic Assessment is an approach based upon Lev Vygotsky’s notion of Zone of Proximal Development. This study examined the ways in which a secondary grade Physics teacher in an Indian school assessed learners’ conceptual understanding and epistemic skills in a unit of Electricity. Using qualitative research methods, it was observed that teachers and students could collaboratively generate knowledge in problem solving situations used in Dynamic Assessments.
