Abstract
This chapter is about school and community partnerships. It illustrates how school and community partnerships can help build capacity and cultural capital for all members of the school community. It highlights the importance of Elders, relationships, family and leadership to build empowering partnerships between schools and communities. It also includes a story from a rural school in New South Wales that exemplifies how Eldership, relationships, kinship and leadership are vital ingredients in developing empowering partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities.
