Abstract

The idea of Big Ideas in mathematics education has now been around for a while, but what does it mean for the teaching and learning of mathematics in schools? This Digest attempts to address this issue by describing two
views about Big Ideas, and aims to give some insights into how the Big Ideas concept can be used by mathematics teachers.
