Abstract
The 2015 Pacific Islands Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (PILNA) was undertaken across
thirteen countries through the hard work and dedicated efforts of many individuals and
organisations.
More than 45,000 students in Year 4 and Year 6 in some 700 schools across 13 countries took part in the Pacific Islands Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (PILNA) for 2015, making it the largest ever assessment for our region. Coordinated by the Pacific Community (SPC), this significant undertaking was made possible through the collaboration of Pacific Ministers for Education and their ministries, and of course the students’, teachers’ and parents’ active participation.
