    Dr. Xiaoxun Sun is a Senior Research Fellow in the Psychometrics and Methodology programme at Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) since July 2010. His current research interest lies in educational data mining, and psychometric assessment.
    Dr. Xiaoxun Sun has solid background in Computer Science, Mathematics and Statistics. He obtained his PhD degree in Computer Science from University of Southern Queensland in 2010. He got his Master and Bachelor degrees in Mathematics from Ocean University of China in 2003 and 2006 respectively.
    Dr. Xiaoxun Sun has been working on a number of research projects since joining ACER, such as International Schools' Assessment (ISA), National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN), Australasian Survey of Student Engagement (AUSSE), Cooperative Scholarship Testing Program (CSTP), Assessment of Higher Education Learning Outcomes (AHELO), etc.
    Before joining ACER, he worked as a research assistant at City University of Hong Kong in 2006, and he was a research fellow at University of Southern Queensland from 2007 to 2010. He has been a visiting research fellow at SAP Research Brisbane in 2009. Most of these projects are supported by the National Natural Science Fund, China; the Innovation and Technology Fund of the HKSAR Government, Hong Kong; the Australia Research Council (ARC) Discovery Projects.
