Toby Simmer

Toby Simmer is Research Officer in the Assessment Transformation program at the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER), with a background in communications, copywriting and project management. Since starting at ACER in 2021, Toby has supported large-scale international assessments and contributed to a number reports and frameworks throughout the Education Research, Policy and Development Division. 

With the Assessment Transformation team he has contributed to projects that monitor international learning outcomes, identify key areas of improvement, and tailor assessment programs for education systems worldwide.

He has also held communication and management roles for the OECD’s TALIS and PISA cycles, as well as the Western Australian Department of Education's Academic Selective Entrance Test.
