About
Ray Philpot is a Senior Research Fellow at the Australian Council for Educational Research. He is the Mathematics team leader in the assessment and reporting research program. Ray has a broad range of experience – nationally and internationally – developing assessments in cross-curricular and 21st century competencies such as critical & creative thinking, problem solving and ICT literacy, in addition to subject-based assessments in Mathematics and Science.
Prior to joining ACER in 2009, Ray lectured mathematics for 10 years in the Department of Science and Mathematics Education at the University of Melbourne and worked for 15 years in the commercial sector as a software engineer and IT project manager.
