Since joining ACER in 2011 Neelam has worked on a variety of assessment programs including; IPAS Mathematics (Indian Progressive Achievement Tests in Mathematics), IBT (International Benchmark Tests). Neelam also played a key role in the development of items for the Learning Assessment for Secondary Schools (LASI) in Bangladesh and has contributed to development of items for Southeast Asia Primary Learning Metrics (SEA-PLM) to assess grade 5 students, building capacity of educational officials in Strengthening Systemic Capacities in Learning Assessment (SSCLA) across five states in India.
Neelam has also developed a self-evaluation to identify areas of systemic improvement for implementing a robust large-scale educational assessment. This tool will enable educational leadership to identify areas that need to be strengthened and can support a progressive improvement.
Prior to joining ACER India, Neelam has had considerable experience private schools in India teaching Mathematics in different curricula. He has experience teaching mathematics in Indian curriculum (NCERT), Cambridge curriculum (CIE) and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). He also has had experience working with a NGO and managing examination across more than 500 schools across and in multiple languages.
