    BSc Adel, MAssEv, PhD Melb
     
    With professional experience in the not-for-profit and government sectors, and in academia, Nathan is an established leader in applied educational measurement and assessment research. He has an advanced knowledge of traditional and contemporary psychometric and statistical methodologies and issues and is recognised for his international research into technology-enabled assessment design and analysis. In 2023 he became a member of the Board of the Australian Council for Educational Research and is the current Head of Division, Assessment & Psychometric Research and Research Director for Methodology and Measurement. 
     
    Nathan joined ACER from his role as Principal Psychometrician in the Assessment and Reporting Division of the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority. Nathan has held research positions in the Assessment Research Centre, University of Melbourne, including as Executive Officer of the AEEYSOC Steering Group NAP Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) Expert Advisory Group. He is currently a member of the OECD PISA 2021 Creative Thinking Expert Group. Nathan was awarded a PhD from the University of Melbourne in 2009.
