Leyna Clarke is a Research Fellow in ACER’s Tertiary and Professional Education Research Program. She has an interest in survey design, student equity and wellbeing, and LGBTQIA+ representation in research. Her work around student experience and equity in the higher education system includes the review of the Student Experience Survey (SES), promoting regional universities to international students, creating a framework for assessing university capacity for supporting regional and remote students in their transition to study, and a ranking system for student equity.

Leyna was part of the research team for the Australia Awards Global Tracer Facility, investigating the long-term outcomes of alumni from the Australia Awards and similar Australian Government scholarships. She has contributed to several quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods case studies around alumni outcomes, as well as annual global surveys. Her work with social network analysis has provided the Facility with a new method to observe the effectiveness of the awards to build alumni networks.
