Dr Jacob Pearce is a Principal Research Fellow in Specialist and Professional Assessment, Tertiary Education, at the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER), where he has worked since 2009. Dr Pearce provides intellectual leadership and expert advice to a range of stakeholders, particularly in the area of post-graduate medical education and health professions assessment. He currently leads projects improving assessment processes and systems for multiple medical specialty colleges and societies. In doing so, he draws on expertise in an array of topic areas related to high-quality assessment, such as psychometrics, standard setting, evaluation, and assessment best-practice. Dr Pearce has a keen interest in assessment quality and medical education. He is an expert reviewer for high-quality journals in both medical and assessment fields and has built a strong publication record in these areas. He sits as a member or technical expert of many college advisory panels and working groups.
