About
Dr Goran Lazendic, BA (Hons), PhD is the Research Director of Assessment Data and Analytics, with a specialisation in international large-scale assessments. He currently holds the position of International Survey Director for the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s Programme for International Student Assessment (OECD PISA). His research expertise encompasses large-scale assessments, multistage adaptive testing, and large language models.
Dr. Lazendic has developed an innovative cross-grade system for multistage adaptive tests for Australia’s National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) and has conducted an extensive investigation into the validity of automated scoring for NAPLAN writing essays. He has also served as a Senior Assessment Specialist at UNESCO’s International Bureau of Education and is an Honorary Associate at the Centre for Educational Measurement and Assessment (CEMA) at the University of Sydney.
