Andrew Mannion is a Research Fellow and Team Leader, Assessment and Development at the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER).
Before joining ACER in 2016, Andrew worked as a secondary teacher of Mathematics, Science, Physics, Outdoor and Environmental Studies, and Digital Technologies for 27 years. He worked across a number of school sectors – government, Catholic and Independent – and spent four years as a uniformed Instructor Officer in the Royal Australian Navy. Over the last 15 years Andrew’s work as a teacher has been focused on teacher development and student assessment in Outdoor and Environmental Studies. He was Chief Assessor of the VCE study, writer of the study design and co-author of the subject’s only textbook, and edited the Victorian Outdoor Education Association’s journal, Journeys.
